While LFG will always mean “looking for group” to us, it’s awesome to see it’s more “enthusiastic” definition of LETS F***ING GO gain popularity – because that’s how we feel about LFGdating in 2026. Seriously. This is our 14th year in business, and there is literally not a single dating site or app for gamers that comes close to what we’ve delivered since 2012. And guess what? We’re still listening to our customer’s feedback, and driving new features that help make the LFGdating experience better. So let’s check what we have planned for 2026!
Next-Generation LFGdating Mobile App
Since our iOS and Android native mobile apps arrived in app store shelves in 2019, we’ve made a metric truckload of improvements and enhancements to make it the #1 app for single gamers – but it’s time for a next generation overhaul.
You see, we’re always iterating and experimenting with our website and mobile apps: trying new features, gathering feedback and monitoring usage, so we can ensure the total experience is delightful and easy to use. We have a number of successful features on web that need to go to our mobile app and vice versa, and we intend to roll out even new things such as push notifications and live activities to name a few.
We’re currently wrapping up the planning stages, but absolutely more to follow here as we get further into 2026.
Search
One of our major focus areas last year was on our Matches experience, and we tested a dozen or so changes to see what resonated with our community. Our Discover feature, which drops daily matches to you well, every single day, was a ginormous success, but we realized a new angle might really be helpful – search.
Today we have filters in our Matches system that allow you to drill down with specified dimensions, but we’re exploring a traditional search feature in which you can simply write or spell out what you’re looking for so you can find the right match more quickly.
It sounds basic, right? Well, it’s not 🙂 – but we do think this will have a massive impact. Of course, our existing Matches system will stay in place as we roll out the Search experiment, and we even have plans to upgrade our Matches feature so lots of exciting updates heading that way as well.
Messaging Overhaul
It’s time: our messaging system, which utilizes a traditional email format, will be upgraded for a much more modern experience. Our goals are ease of use and improved notifications, and we’re super excited to get this out the door and into your hands.
