Every dating site has a page like this buried somewhere in FAQ purgatory, written in the passive voice by someone’s legal team. This is not that page. This is the complete inventory of what LFGdating’s free and premium tiers include — every feature, every price, including the parts where we tell you not to upgrade yet. If yesterday’s post covered whether paid dating apps are worth it at all, this one shows you our whole loot table so you can judge ours by the same rubric.
What free gets you (and we mean actually gets you)
The free tier is not a demo. It’s the game with one capability locked.
- A full profile. Build it out completely — your games, your platforms, your whole deal. Every profile is reviewed by an actual human before it goes live, which is why your matches are people and not cryptocurrency enthusiasts with stolen selfies.
- Daily matches. Curated matches delivered daily, no swiping stamina bar, no like limit that resets at midnight like some kind of gacha energy system.
- Nearby matches. See who’s in your area.
- The reply rule. This is the one nobody believes until they read it twice: free members can respond to any message a premium member sends them. Not for a trial window. Not the first three messages. Indefinitely — or, in the site’s official words, until both parties fall in love.
That last one matters. On LFGdating, being a free member doesn’t mean sitting in a soundproof booth watching people wave at you. If a premium member messages you, the conversation is fully open, both directions, for as long as it lasts. Plenty of free members have gone on real dates without ever paying us a dollar. We’re weirdly fine with that.
What premium unlocks
Every plan gets the same features — monthly, three-month, yearly, identical loadout. The only thing that changes with plan length is the price per month. Here’s the full list:
- Unlimited messaging. The big one. Premium means you make the first move — message anyone, start any conversation, no caps. If the free tier is playing support, premium is switching to the carry role.
- Discover unlock: 3x newly curated matches. Triple the daily curated matches, which means triple the chances the algorithm surfaces the person whose profile makes you actually stop scrolling.
- See who’s viewed your profile. No more blurred silhouettes engineered to sell mystery. Just the actual list.
- See who’s favorited your profile. Someone out there already hit the favorite button on you. Premium shows you who, which turns “messaging a stranger” into “messaging someone who already likes what they see.” Different game entirely.
- 3x long-distance match filters. Triple the reach for members whose Player 2 might be a few time zones away — a feature we built because gamers do long distance better than anyone and we have the co-op receipts to prove it.
- Never see ads. Zero. The premium experience is just you and the humans.
Why premium exists (the anti-bot economics)
Here’s the part most sites won’t say out loud: our paywall is a spam filter that happens to fund the servers.
A low-cost premium tier is the most effective bot deterrent ever invented, because bots and scammers operate at scale and scale hates invoices. Combine a modest paywall with human review of every single profile and you get what the big apps spend millions in machine learning failing to achieve: a community that’s just people. From our own FAQ, in words we stand behind: by offering this service at an extremely low cost, we’re able to effectively eliminate spammers — and the dreadful fake profile.
That’s why premium costs what a lunch costs and not what a car payment costs. The price isn’t calibrated to maximize revenue per user. It’s calibrated to be trivially affordable for a human and structurally ruinous for a bot farm.
Which plan makes sense for you
Three plans, all recurring, all identical features: $15 for one month, $35 for three months, $75 for a year. Per month that’s $15, $11.66, and $6.25 respectively. Pick by quest length:
- One month ($15) — the scouting mission. Honest guidance: monthly is fine if you’re just testing the waters. Try premium, send some first messages, see how the community fits. No judgment, no dark-pattern cancellation maze.
- Three months ($35, $11.66/mo) — the standard campaign. The most popular plan, and the realistic one. Meeting someone worth meeting usually takes more than thirty days, and three months is enough runway to let conversations become dates without re-upping every four weeks.
- Yearly ($75, $6.25/mo) — the completionist run. The best per-month math by a mile. Best for members who know what they’re looking for and want the subscription to be the one thing they don’t think about this year.
Our actual advice? Start free. Use the daily matches, fill out the profile properly, get a feel for the place. Upgrade when you find yourself wanting to send the first message — that’s the moment premium is for, and you’ll know it when it happens.
The math vs. everything else
One flat price, posted publicly, same for everyone. That sentence shouldn’t be a differentiator in 2026, and yet: research from the Groundwork Collaborative documented mainstream dating apps charging different users different prices for the same subscription based on age and location, with basic tier prices up as much as 200% over the past decade. Your neighbor might be paying less than you for the same app right now, and there’s no patch notes entry explaining why.
LFGdating’s yearly plan works out to $6.25 a month — less than most top-tier mainstream plans cost per week. No age surcharge. No zip code roulette. No “your price may vary.” The price is the price, the features are the features, and every plan gets all of them.
Ready to see it from the inside? Create your free profile and start with the daily matches, or grab the app so they land on your phone. Upgrade whenever you’re ready to make the first move — we’ll be here, and the price will still be the price.
